My name is Roman Mamus. I recently graduated with honors from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York. I also completed a minor in Construction Management.
While at Pratt, I worked as a Statics Tutor, Teachers Assistant for Design and Drawing courses, and a monitor at Pratt's fabrication shop where I specialized in working with CNC Laser Cutters as well as a 5-Axis Robot arm to support architecture students in all aspects of modelmaking.
During my internship and research assistant positions, I focused on the impact of the built environment on public memory through memorials, and interrogated different typologies used in postwar monuments to represent narrative. I also performed research on the nature of hybrid design practices during my internship as part of the firm's engagement with NEW Inc.
Outside of work, I use my architectural training to work with writers and engineers to produce art and worldbuilding content. I also recently traveled to Europe with Archimarathon in order to study Spanish and Portuguese architecture in person. Prior to studying architecture, I received conservatory training in classical composition, something I continue to pursue as a hobby.
